SMT smashes 24-hour Treadmill Challenge
Our Management Team put their best feet forward from Thursday 22nd to Friday 23rd September 2016, to raise more than £3,000 for us.
Smashing their target, the team took it in turns to walk their part of 82.7 miles on a treadmill in main reception - the equivalent of the distance between the Hospice, in Hatch Lane, and our 15 shops. The team took on the fundraising feat over a 24-hour period and their dedication even saw Medical Director, Cecily Wright, return from maternity leave to take to the treadmill with her four-week old daughter!
Staff and volunteers were there to cheer on their Senior Management Team (SMT) and Debbie Raven, Thames Hospice Chief Executive, said: ”This has been a real team effort and we couldn’t have done it without the backing of the whole organisation. Whether it was the kitchen staff keeping us fed and watered, or the night nurses cheering us on, everyone’s support meant so much to us.”
