Support our biggest summer fundraiser
Thames Hospice’s key summer fundraising event, The Sunflower Walk, is back for 2016! Set in the stunning Virginia Water, Surrey, participants can celebrate the life of a loved one while raising vital funds for us.
Taking place on Saturday 21 May from 10am and with the choice of 4k, 6.5k and 13k distances, this fun event has something for everyone. Discover the famous lake, walk past the iconic Copper Horse statue, and take in the awe-inspiring sight of the 100-foot Totem Pole.
On the day, we will be joined by some familiar cartoon characters and there will be entertainment for children - the perfect family day out.
Alison Evans, Community and Events Fundraising Manager at Thames Hospice, said: “Please sign up and join us for our biggest fundraiser of the year at the gorgeous Virginia Water. The walks are suitable for all ages and children will love searching for their favourite cartoon characters. Why not make a day of it and bring a picnic? All the while you’ll be helping us raise much-needed funds so we can continue the vital work we do in your community.”
Once again, there will be the chance for families to remember their loved ones by placing a message on our special Memory Tree. The person who raises the highest sponsorship total will win a special edition Star Wars Battlefront Playstation PS4, which was kindly donated by a Thames Hospice supporter.
We are also delighted to announce that John Guest will be sponsoring the event for the third consecutive year. All funds raised will support your Hospice to provide care for local people and their loved ones at life’s most difficult time.
